A leading manufacturer of automated lab equipment had a critical business need for their machine enclosure fabrication. New materials regulations called for specific fire ratings for machine enclosures. Acrylic, the traditional material used, did not meet the new requirements. Not only was an alternate material needed, but also a fabrication company with the necessary drape forming equipment and expertise.
The Solution
Drawing on our expertise in materials selection and handling, Goldleaf Plastics was able to work with this customer to design the enclosures using polycarbonate. Plus, our in-house large-format drape forming equipment allowed us to manufacture a full run of enclosures cost-effectively and in time to comply with the new regulations.

With our in-house, large-format drape forming capability, Goldleaf Plastics is able to meet this customer's needs for just-in-time delivery of domestic-made acrylics. This has minimized lead times, reduced overhead costs, and helped streamline job flow.
Additionally, Goldleaf Plastics was able to assist this customer with obtaining approval for materials made in North America.
